Prominent rights advocate Katrina Legarda says charges vs Corona 'not impeachable' offenses

Lawyer Katrina Legarda in her interview with the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) as candidate for Supreme Court Chief Justice reportedly recounted how "morale of the courts plunged" and many judges and justices "were like lost sheep" following the the impeachment of former Chief Justice Renato Corona on offenses that she did not think were impeachable.
"What they brought up against Corona was not really an impeachable offense. The courts became scared that when they displease a higher authority, they will have problems in the future.."

The impeachment complaint against Corona was reportedly fast-tracked through the House of Representatives with no less than Speaker Feliciano "Sonny" Racimo Belmonte, Jr recalling how "a 'furious' President Aquino wanted a 'fast' impeachment against Corona after he and seven other Arroyo appointees had issued a temporary restraining order (TRO) to block the travel ban against [former President Gloria] Arroyo".

Of course, she cannot be Chief Justice because she has some qualifications. BS needs someone who is either dumber than he is or is a grovelling sycophant so he won't be intimidated. That's the problem with having a prissy little poofter as president.
